ThanksTAKING – Thanksgiving – pass it on.
On Thursday in the USA we celebrate Thanksgiving. It is a time for people to come together with their families and give thanks for the blessings in their lives. We’re also growing more aware that the story of the European settlers’ original Thanksgiving has a complex background in relation to Indigenous people. I’m grateful for reconsidering inherited stories that help learning and unlearning. Especially, this week, stories of how to give thanks.
Wampanoag scholars Paula Peters and Linda Coombs tell us the story of Thanksgiving from an Indigenous Perspective. So we may be in good relationship, with one another and the bounty of the Earth. Listen to their podcast
