Module 1 – Introducing a MetaModel for ART: Three Spaces and Seven Quality Choicepoints.

WELCOME TO THE COURSE!

Action Research for Transformations (ART) wants societal learning to happen at scale, in partnership with, but not solely reliant on, formal educational institutions. This requires that we see connections.

You now have a basic metamodel of three spaces. In the relational space we must also feel our connectedness. Then the learning in ART can get personal and help reframe stuck ways of thinking. From that we make experiments and learn from them.

This program is animated by the belief that development of many more conscious citizens is possible and necessary all over the world. For this education, formal and informal, must be reimagined to support self and society, citizen, and community in win-win creativity that brings personal and sustainable development together. Knowledge creation is therefore lifelong.

It will have myriad beautiful expressions as our sustainability crisis is tackled by average citizens supported by service oriented scholar-practitioners. They are educators and change leaders. I call us ARTists.

In Module 1 you have also the seven quality choicepoints that can be used to design but also check your ART. Next we’ll turn to really getting started. Given the personal quality of our work, it may not be a surprise that you start with yourself. With your Intention, which is the focus of Module 2.

ARTistry is a journey of transformative learning as much as a tangible destination. We too, and the program, are transforming.

As you progress on your journey you are a stakeholder to this program. If you find helpful resources on your path or have insights that may help others, do us a favor and please share those in the resource drop box on this welcome page so we may credit you for enriching the ART program as it grows to be a community offering.
