De La Salle invites AR+

We’re delighted to announce that AR+ | ActionResearchPlus Foundation will be visiting with the De La Salle University (DLSU) Community in Manila Philippines. This continues an already successful pattern which began at Chalmers University, Sweden. With AR+ visiting in the role of Distinguished Professor (Visiting), there is more attention to action research efforts of faculty and students from which new efforts arise.

This visit includes public lectures and classroom conversations. It is intended also to make global knowledge democracy more available to action researchers worldwide by supporting those practicing at the developmental edge of action research for transformations (ART).

Prof. Ben Teehankee has stewarded the connection between DLSU and AR+ for over five years. First as professor, then dean and more recently president of the faculty body, Ben has promoted action research as a core curricular component at DLSU. Now with broadening faculty engagement, alongside considerable innovation in crafting the structures needed to support action research, DLSU calls for deepening and elevating their ART.

Following our visit AR+ hopes to help resolve the next natural challenge of success. Namely how to produce many more action researchers – faculty, students and supportive community members, in response to the growing sustainability crises. We will treat the challenge as an experiment in action research transformations (of course!), enlisting others in the AR+ community as interest in action research continues to rise.

In the video snippet you see Profs. Ben Teehankee and Raymund (Mund) Habaradas, Ramon V. del Rosario Chair in Entrepreneurship and Graduate Program Coordinator and Full Professor. They speak with AR+ Curator Hilary Bradbury about their journey with action research. There have been ups and there are challenges for this university in continuing to serve the elite of Philippine society while oriented by a deep commitment to, and explicit mission of, serving social justice.

The Cooking with Action Research series has details of the DLSU journey in both English and Spanish volumes.
