AMICABLE coLAB for ARTists

CoLAB facilitators: Drs. Alastair Wyllie and Cynthia Mitchell with Hilary Bradbury.

Perhaps you're seeking community in which to feel better resourced with peer ARTists?

The AMICABLE coLAB welcomes change maker-facilitators in the mood for self replenishment, a little fun and reflective conversation. Welcome ARTists!

This quarterly circle interweaves a creative combination of content (e.g., “movie-book club”) and learning processes (“catching up with yourself and your work”). Facilitated in support of continuous learning at our developmental edge. Supporting personal and professional development through participative peer discussion and learning.

In this space we get to know one another through each other’s practice.

Quarterly Session Description.

Each session comprises 2 X 75 mins blocks with meditation or informal conversation rooms open before, between and after each block. If you can stay for all 180 mins, terrific. Feel free to duck out between.

#1 Block. Cynthia and Al, our movie-book-mavens, will kick off the conversation with highly opinionated (and equally questionable?) insights, based on what participants have reviewed beforehand. Our focus is primarily on the relevance for our practice as ARTists.

#2 Block. Alastair leads a peer-coaching-practice circle, inviting focus on a key issue of ARTist practice, e.g., accessing high quality feedback; working with participant vulnerability; engaging a next circle of stakeholders.

We’ll play with participative methods, old and new, e.g., world café; fish bowl; speed dating, in support of the chosen focus. Those who register are invited to suggest aspects of your work as an attractor for peer learning conversations and / or old / new materials (books, movies) and participative practices for mutual edification.

Cynthia and Alastair share their motivation for hosting and what they are each most looking forward to. We all agree that this is one helluva sophisticated and valuable club that we are inviting people to 🙂

We are hopeful that in aMICAble meetings, we will also turn the camera on ourselves as an AR+ community. In other words, we’ll walk the talk using this shared space for progressing our experimentation together.

In June we’ll start with the movie Infinite Potential. It's about quantum physicist David Bohm whose physics gave rise to the practice of dialogue. This in turn, more recently, to circling.

To participate, review in advance.  You can rent or buy Infinite Potential at this link.  We see the Directors Cut has just become available and includes Leroy Little Bear amongst others:  https://vimeo.com/ondemand/infinitepotential
