Action Research for all! YouTube Talk Pulse Practice with Hilary Bradbury
Action research arose within the field of organizational development as a way to help transform bureaucracy and better meet citizens’ needs. Today it has morphed into a social constructionist change methodology working participatively with system actors to improve lives — of all beings.  Action research combines concern for impact with a scholarly systems approach worldwide in fields ranging from healthcare to international development. Key to its power is grasping that we are always participating; we are co-creating with the world. This talk is intended to support participants in helping transformations, big and small, within systems in which they participate. We begin with a short example of action research that is unpacked in terms of key components of action research such as convening partnership and delivering contribution.Â
Participants are invited to reflect on their own eco-social contexts to ideally leave with more awareness of what is at stake for you in helping transformations happen. Importantly, we reflect on how our work may be improved — especially regarding our habits of power, feedback and collaboration — so that change agents’ impact and contribution is enriched.Â
The recording is also available in the Event Replays library of the Taos Institute Commons online community.
