The 10 essentials of ART-full (action-oriented transformation) research

Last August, at the Transformations 2017 conference in Dundee, 300+ researchers with a bias toward climate change action, met to share our experience. We all get that the most critical question for climate research is no longer about the problem, but about how to facilitate the transformative changes necessary to avoid catastrophic climate-induced change. Some of us – led by Ioan Fazey – wrote up “10 essentials for action-oriented transformation research.” This “ART”-ful effort just got published and is available without a paywall…

The paper brings together different insights from the rich and diverse traditions of action-oriented research to help explain how we can more effectively understand and navigate our way through a world of change. More importantly how might we ensure knowledge production contributes more directly to societal needs.

What do you think of the 10 essentials?  Do you agree?
